What is Aikido?
Aikido (合気道) is a modern martial art created in the early 20th century by Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969). Aikido (Ai = harmony, Ki = life energy, Do = way of life) aims to enable practitioners to resolve conflicts in a non-violent manner. The principles learned in Aikido can be applied universally in life. Thus, Aikido fosters personal development in terms of body, mind, and spirit. It is suitable for all age groups.
